What sets our training programmes apart?

All of our training programmes are built with the Njinga Training Philosophy at their foundation. Our programmes are structured and progressive to develop your physical fitness (TrainSmart), whilst also building in a nutritional element to help you perform and recover more efficiently (FuelSmart). Finally, the programmes focus on developing your mental strength (ThinkSmart) and when all these components are brought together, ensure you RideSmart.

Programme Options

At Njinga we have a two programme options available to enable you to TrainSmart. Our Multi-Week Group Indoor Training Programmes range from 4-8 weeks throughout the year, whilst our Bespoke Training Programmes can be used to fit in around your own schedule and goals. We have helped riders train from 6 months to 6 weeks out from their event, so whatever your goal, we can help you!

Just completed the 8 week mountain goat programme to kickstart my training for 2018. I was a little sceptical that I would see a significant increase over that time period, however I just completed my test and have pushed up my average power score by over 25 Watts for the 7 minute interval. I feel stronger and way more controlled and with better pedal technique now when climbing. I was also really pleased to hit 345 Watts average in the test, a new pb for me. Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!!

I have just completed my first training programme with Togo and the team at Njinga and cannot rate it highly enough! I'm new to Wattbike training, and a relatively inexperienced road cyclist, but I thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and my cycling has improved massively. It was a steep learning curve and the sessions were physically very tough, but my power output has increased significantly, I hit a target I thought was way beyond me and I learnt a lot about pushing myself mentally. I was nervous about joining the programme, but I didn't need to be - The team made me feel welcome immediately. The coaching and, importantly for me, the support and encouragement is top notch. Njinga offer the whole package. For me, it was worth every penny and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to any level of cyclist.

After entering the Tour of Cambridgeshire last year I got to Spring with hardly any long riding under my belt, the team at Njinga suggested the Tour of Cambridge Indoor Training Programme on their wattbikes. This seemed a great idea but I did wonder how 2 x 1 hour sessions per week was really going to make that much difference. Josh was great at keeping us motivated and disciplined as we pushed through the programme. Being surrounded by a friendly bunch of other cyclists with similar goals was also great for motivation. The final FTP test came around and I had improved my score by over 20 watts and felt more comfortable holding consistent power. I also manged to qualify for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships - beyond my own expectations! Doing a programme at Njinga is a super smart and time efficient way of training with a great bunch of people. I highly recommend.
