Do you love all things uphill? Does the sight of 5% and upwards get you fired up? Maybe you want to work towards becoming this kind of rider? Find out your true climbing potential with our Col Climber test. 

You will be able to test your climbing ability on our simulation of the Njinga favourite, the iconic San Salvador climb in Mallorca. This test will be able to examine your power efficiency at different gear resistances and varying cadences.

Whether you enjoy hill climbing or avoid all hills, this is a great test for anyone to realise their true climbing strengths. The results from the test will help guide your training as to whether you should be doing more training on heavier gears or working on maintaining a certain cadence on lighter gears up the climbs. Protocol

What's involved

A test of your climbing ability that involves:

* A climbing protocol based on a Njinga favourite, the iconic San Salvador climb in Mallorca

* Climb the 5.5km at varying cadences and intensities

* Aim to is to get to the top as quick as you can with the highest power to weight score

What the results show

This results from the test will give you:

* A better understanding on your power efficiency at different gear resistances and varying cadences.

* Valuable information on your power to weight ratio, which is a fundamental statistic for any climber in the peloton

We can then take this data and help guide your training as to whether you should be doing more training on heavier gears or working on maintaining a certain cadence on lighter gears up the climbs.

The Njinga Col Climber - Key Details

We recommend re-testing approximately every 4-8 weeks - Before and after specific training blocks or big rolling sportives.

This test costs £35 within a scheduled timeslot and £45 for a private session. The test will include a full report after the test itself.

The test will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. You will go through a structured warm up before beginning the test.

You will need a towel, a waterbottle and a heart rate monitor if you have one. We also recommend no high intensity exercise the day before to ensure your legs are fresh.
